The SGL has developed an international network of cooperation and has signed collaboration protocols with Institutes, Universities and Organizations such as the EU Joint Research Centre (JRC), the Austrian Environment Agency, The University of Cyprus, the University of Greece etc. Bilateral cooperations have also been developed for the exchange of information, expertise and the implementation of research programs with other European laboratories.
Research is an important pillar of the scientific and technological development of the State General Laboratory (SGL).
